1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Hesych ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These terms apply to all users of Hesych, including free users and Premium license holders.

2. Description of Service

Hesych is a local-first password manager that encrypts and stores your credentials on your device using AES-256-GCM encryption. The Service is available as a Progressive Web App (PWA) accessible at hesych.com.

The Free tier is provided at no cost and includes core password management features. The Premium tier requires a one-time payment and unlocks additional features as described on our pricing page.

3. License & Payment

• Your license is valid indefinitely. No recurring charges, no renewal fees, no expiry date.
• One license covers one person's personal use. You may use it across your own devices.
• You may not resell, sublicense, share, or redistribute your license key.
• Payments are processed by our payment provider. We do not store your payment details.

4. Refund Policy

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked. If you are not satisfied with Hesych Premium within 30 days of purchase, contact us at [email protected] for a full refund.

After 30 days, refunds are granted at our discretion for exceptional circumstances only.

5. Your Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for:

• Your master password. If you lose it, your vault cannot be recovered by you or by us. There is no reset mechanism by design.
• Keeping backups. We strongly recommend using the Encrypted Export feature (Premium) to maintain regular backups of your vault.
• Device security. Your encrypted vault is stored on your device. Keeping your device secure is your responsibility.
• Lawful use. You agree not to use Hesych for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.

6. Intellectual Property

Hesych, its logo, code, and all associated content are the intellectual property of the Hesych operator. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service without explicit written permission.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Hesych is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

While we take security seriously and use industry-standard encryption, no system is 100% impenetrable. Use Hesych as one layer of your security practice.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hesych and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of profits, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising under these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license.

9. Service Availability & Changes

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for material changes.

Because Hesych is local-first, your data remains accessible on your device even if the Service is discontinued. Your vault does not depend on our servers to function.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. Contact us at [email protected].
